Geotechnical analysis you co-edit with AI

Draw a cross-section, assign soils and water, and run slope stability and seepage in the browser. Connect Claude, and it works on the same live model: it moves geometry, changes parameters and runs analyses while you watch, and every change can be undone.

A slope with a weak layer, a phreatic line and the critical slip circle, next to an AI message that changed the model F = 1.38 weak layer phreatic line Claude Lowered the water table by 2 m and re-ran Spencer: F 1.21 → 1.38.

What it does today

2D geometry editor

Draw soil regions, import DXF, and snap to a 1 mm grid. Regions keep their materials when you move, split or merge geometry.

Slope stability

Simplified Bishop on circles, and Spencer and Morgenstern–Price (GLE) on circles or non-circular surfaces, with automatic critical-surface search. Supports loads, pseudo-static seismic coefficients, reinforcement and undrained soil.

Steady seepage (FEM)

Confined and unconfined flow with head, no-flow and seepage-face boundaries, and anisotropic layers. The computed pore pressures can feed the slope analyses directly.

What-if studies

Ask the AI for parameter sweeps or for the value that gives a target factor of safety, for example the cohesion needed for F = 1.5. These runs leave the project unchanged, and the editor lists their results.

Projects you own

Full history with undo, clone, trash, and export and import as JSON. The export contains your data and nothing else.

Honest results

Every result field carries its unit and sign convention (SI, tension positive). Each module states its version and its verification status.

Working with an AI assistant

Soilicon is an MCP server, so Claude (and other apps that support MCP connectors) can read your project, change it, and run analyses. The editor shows the changes live, and the project history records which changes came from the AI.

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Paste https://app.soilicon.com/mcp and add the connector.
  3. Log in to Soilicon in the window that opens and click Allow.

Then try: “Build a 10 m high 1:2 slope in clay with c′ = 10 kPa, φ′ = 25°, put the water table 2 m below the crest, and find the critical circle.”

Typical use cases

Embankments and levees

Check stability at the design water level. Compute steady seepage from the river level and use its pore pressures in Bishop or GLE.

seepageBishopGLE

Cut slopes with a weak layer

Search non-circular surfaces along a thin clay seam, where a circular search overestimates the factor of safety.

GLE search

Small dams

Get discharge, the phreatic line and exit gradients with and without a toe drain, then check the downstream slope with those pore pressures.

seepagei_max

Reinforced slopes

Add soil nails or geogrids to Bishop and GLE analyses and compare F with and without them.

reinforcement

Pseudo-static seismic checks

Apply horizontal and vertical seismic coefficients, or solve for the k_h at which F reaches 1.0.

Parametric studies with the AI

“Vary φ′ of the fill from 26° to 34° and the water level in three steps, and tabulate F.” The AI runs the sweep and reports each case.

How far it has been verified

Soilicon is in beta. Every analysis module reports MODULE_UNVERIFIED until its owner signs it off against a formal benchmark set. Bishop matches published hand calculations to within 0.5 %, and seepage matches exact solutions to within 2 %. Check results independently before you use them in design.
